01 — WHAT IT IS

What tech consulting actually is.

Tech consulting is two jobs done as one: working out which systems will genuinely pay off, and then building, deploying and running them. The first half without the second is a slide deck; the second without the first is expensive guesswork.

The best engagements are outcome-led. Not “modernise the stack”, but “stop losing two days a month to reporting”, “the product your team actually uses”, “it stays up overnight without you”. Software, cloud, data and AI are chosen to fit the outcome — never the other way round.

We work with businesses across the UK and worldwide. AI is one of four capabilities, used where it earns its keep. Most first jobs are not AI.

02 — FOUR WAYS IN

Four capabilities. One partner.

Each stands alone. Together they are a full path from idea to running systems. You can start on any of them; we will say if another is the better first move.

01 / SOFTWARE
Software engineering
The workaround no bought tool quite fits, replaced by software they actually use — then yours to run.
02 / CLOUD
Cloud & infrastructure
The ground under the product, so it stays up, stays yours, and you no longer have to keep it running.
03 / DATA
Data & analytics
One number everyone trusts before the meeting — reporting, science and models that sit inside the decision.
04 / AI
Artificial intelligence
The work that takes over the week, handled — language, prediction or agents, with you still in the loop.
03 — HOW AN ENGAGEMENT RUNS

Build · Deploy · Elevate

Same three phases whether the first job is software, cloud, data or AI. The first call is to pin down the work; the rest is to ship it and keep it running.

Build — find the win, then make it real

One call to pin down the job, the users and what working means. Then a first version your team actually uses, on real work — not a mock-up. You leave knowing whether the idea is strong, what it would take, and what it would cost.

Deploy — live in your environment

Security, access and monitoring, installed in an account you own — your cloud or a private on-premise appliance — ready to do the work day to day.

Elevate — kept sharp as you grow

Patched, monitored and improved. Handover and training are part of the work, so your team can run it with confidence. We stay involved because you want us to.

04 — CHOOSING A PARTNER

How to choose a tech partner.

Whoever you talk to — us included — these are the questions that separate a partner from a pitch:

Will they look at the whole picture?

A partner who only sells AI will find an AI job. Same for software, same for cloud. Ask whether they will tell you not to buy what they sell.

Do they build, or just advise?

If the people writing the roadmap will not be building the system, the plan and the product will drift apart. Ask who does the work.

Do they start with something live?

A good partner sequences for an early win — a real system in weeks that pays for the next one — rather than a six-month programme before anything ships.

Will you own it when they leave?

Accounts, documentation, the running product. Handover should be in the price. You should be able to operate what you paid for without booking a call.

Are the costs honest?

Per-project quotes after a scoping conversation beat day-rates that meter the uncertainty onto you. If the answer to “what will this cost” is a shrug, keep walking.

Two how-it-works notes sit next to this one: custom software and cloud infrastructure.

05 — FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does tech consulting actually cover?

Software, cloud, data and AI — plus putting them to work. One partner across strategy, build, deployment, training and ongoing support. You do not have to know which capability you need before you call.

Do we have to start with AI?

No. We start where the time and risk sit this month. For many teams that is a product the team will actually use, a system that stays up overnight, or one number the board trusts. AI comes in when it is the right tool, not because it is fashionable.

How do you pick which job to do first?

We look at where hours disappear, where things break, and what working would mean on a real Monday. Then we rank a short, costed list. You pick the first one. The rest can wait.

Can one firm really cover software, cloud, data and AI?

The work rarely stays in one box. Software needs a home. Data needs a product people open. AI needs both, plus a person in the loop. That is why we work as one partner rather than handing you between four vendors.

What if we already have someone technical in-house?

We work alongside them. Handover, documentation and training are part of the engagement, so you are never dependent on us to change a label. If you want us to keep running it, that is optional.

Tell us the job. We'll tell you where to start.

A short, no-obligation call: how the business runs, where the time goes, what a first system would take. No hard sell.
